I didn't read the skank blog so I can't weigh in on it's content, but I am uncomfortable with anonymity being stripped away so easily. Despite what the law has said in this case I still feel it has it's place - people being able to state their piece and providing a balance to views in public life. If people cannot provide opinion that is negative (even tastelessly so) then the only view supported in public becomes unrealistically positive. After all, fan sites and such do not provide any more a realistic view, it's just the people in question don't object. This probably works great for those who promote themselves via the press, but I'm not entirely comfortable with that balance so much in their favour.

Wow, that's a big decision. Presumably she's got to prove that she isn't the "skankiest person in New York" in order to prove defamation. How do you prove that? A panel of teenage girls?!
